Voyage...
2026 Portsmouth University Merrilyn
Join us aboard Merrilyn for 3 days of sailing and exploring!
We are delighted that Portsmouth University will be joining us again for another voyage.
You begin your voyage at Universal Marina on the River Hamble and then have the opportunity to sail along the South Coast and explore the beautiful coastline and ports.
The South Coast is one of the most famous sailing areas in the world including Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, and Portsmouth Harbour when Henry the VIII himself sailed from. Sailing these waters and exploring new places will be combined with working together as a team and making lifelong friendships with your fellow crewmates.
You'll join the boat on Wednesday morning, find a bunk for the voyage and after a safety briefing you set sail that day. Sail training is all about teamwork and working together with your new friends. All the duties on board are shared from the sailing to the cooking to the cleaning. Much more fun when you have your crewmates alongside you to help and make tasks easier.
You will join us as a group but we do sail with 2 watches which will be selected on arrival. We encourage people to stretch their abilities and the benefits from all that sail training can bring and sometimes you need to step outside your comfort zone to do that. But if you aren't in the same watch as your close friend don't worry - you are never too far away from a familiar face.
Weather brings Adventure
We strive to create the most exciting and enriching itineraries and embrace the unpredictability of nature as part of our adventures. Our voyages offer a unique opportunity to connect with the elements and experience the thrill of sailing offshore. While weather conditions can occasionally alter our planned routes, these moments of adaptability only add to the journey and lead to the most remarkable discoveries.
Come aboard with an open mind and an adventurous spirit, and let's set sail together on an extraordinary journey filled with exciting possibilities.
